Tidbit Tuesday: Ordering Vegan at Chinese Restaurants

Today on Tidbit Tuesday, I will show you how to order vegan at Chinese restaurants!

Most Chinese restaurants list your “meat” options as shrimp, beef, or chicken. But did you know there is a fourth option that is vegan friendly?

Thats right! Most Chinese restaurants don’t list it, but they do in fact have Tofu!

My favorites have been General Tso Tofu and Seasame Tofu! Make sure you order white rice instead of fried rice, and you’re good to go!

Also, remember to order a veggie spring roll instead of an egg roll.

Until next time, eat your veggies and enjoy your Chinese food too!

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

My weightloss journey is going a little slower than I’d like. I have the diet down, except for a few extra bowls of Life Cinnamon cereal and some Vegan ice cream for dessert… but I haven’t started the big part of weight loss: working out.

I could beat myself up when I step on the scale. But I choose not to.

As with most things, slow and steady win the race.

We want our weight to just fly off of us, but to healthfully loose weight–that’s not how it works.

Eating Vegan at Chipotle

Today on Tidbit Tuesday, I want to share my favorite place to go eat at: Chipotle

Did you know that they are vegan friendly?

They have sofritas which is made of Tofu and spices!

Yes, it’s just as YUM as it looks!

To eat a healthy and deliciously Vegan dish, order a burrito bowl with:

  • Sofritas
  • Brown rice
  • Black beans
  • Mild salad
  • Corn salsa
  • Lettuce
  • Guacamole
  • And cilantro!

Look at that yummy, healthy, vegan goodness!

Until next time, eat healthy and have your Chipotle too!

Zesty Asian-inspired Tempeh

Hey there! Thanks✨ for visiting Happy Healthy Noms for this week’s Foodie Friday!🍴

Today I am sharing a simple dish that has become a staple for dinner! It’s super yummy!

Zesty Asian-inspired Tempeh

Marinate tempeh in soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, and hoisin sauce.

Cook until light brown in a pan.

Serve on top of rice with cilantro, a lime, and green onions!

You’re probably wondering what tempeh is, right?

It’s actually a lot like Tofu, but less processed. It’s made of fermented soy compacted together. It’s tastes different than Tofu. In my opinion, it’s more flavorful and tasty!

Until next time, eat your veggies and have your tempeh too!

Motivational Quote Monday: Take it step by step…

Some journeys start out with a leap of faith.

But most journeys start step by step and day by day.

At least that’s how I need to think about my journey to health. I can’t think about just jumping into a new lifestyle and instantly reaching my goals.

Rather I need to take it step by step. I can jump into my new lifestyle, but I can’t get bogged down because my goal hasn’t been met quite yet.

Whether you’re on a journey of health or something else…

The Start of My Health Journey!

I’m on my path to eating healthy and feeling happy!

Last year when I was vegan, working out, and generally healthy all around–I weighed 120 pounds.

I am now up to 160 pounds.

I’ll keep track of my weight loss as I go.

Maybe you think I look fine, but I don’t think so. And it’s not just skin deep.

 I want to be HEALTHY!
I’m only  3 days on this vegan diet and I’m less bloated, my skin is clearing, and the fat is loosening!

Here’s to my journey! Thanks for going on it with me!

(Recipes will be coming soon!)
